Mr. Long

This will be my 12th year here at Schimelpfeng MS.  I have taught all core subjects except English and coached all sports in my tenure here at Schim. My focus has been in the classroom for the last seven years.

Born and raised in Dallas, I attended North Garland HS followed by Texas A&M Commerce where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.  This is a second career for me after spending 20 years in logistics.  

I enjoy spending quality family time with my wife, 14-year-old daughter and 28 yr-old son.  My wife and I enjoy traveling to famous music venues such as Red Rocks and the Ryman to catch some of our favorite bands when we can.

Outside of spending quality time with family and friends, I thoroughly enjoy watching my local sports teams along with UT athletics.  Playing golf and basketball helps keep me in some kind of shape, while I make watching the four major golf tournaments a priority on my calendar each year!  

It is a privilege every year to be at such a great school while working with such a great staff and I look forward to another great year at Schim!
