Ms. Kristen Kinnard
Welcome to Panther Country!
I am truly honored to serve as the principal of Schimelpfenig Middle School. It is a real blessing to work alongside our dynamic staff each and every day as we educate and inspire our amazing students to be the very best versions of themselves.
This is my 29th year in education, and I still get up each morning excited and looking forward to the day ahead! I began my career in education in 1995, working as a Spanish teacher at both the middle and high school levels for thirteen years. My last fifteen years have been in administration, first serving as an assistant principal in Lovejoy ISD. I then joined the admin team at Williams High School here in Plano and served as an assistant principal there for seven years before becoming principal at Schimelpfenig Middle School in the Fall of 2021. When I am not at school, I love spending time traveling, reading, and watching movies, and I value time with my wonderful family, especially my kids who both live in other parts of the country. Every opportunity to see them is special!
At Schimelpfenig, we too pride ourselves on family. Our Panther Family includes all of our parents, students, staff, and community stakeholders. We want every individual who walks through our doors to feel valued, respected and heard, knowing that they are an integral part of our family. Our campus vision focuses on building relationships and nurturing each student to his or her fullest potential. We cannot bring this vision to fruition without these vitally important partnerships with parents and the community. They are a key link to the work we do every day to ensure that our students excel academically, socially and emotionally and become well-rounded individuals. It truly takes a village, and we appreciate all of your efforts and contributions to making this happen!
I would love to hear from you, so please do not hesitate to reach out. My door is always open!
This is going to be an awesome year!

I am proud to serve as an Assistant Principal at Schimelpfenig Middle School, where I work each day to help create a school community where everyone feels valued, supported, and capable of success. I believe that strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful learning, and I am committed to ensuring students and staff know they are seen, heard, and cared for.
I have a background which includes experience as an elementary classroom teacher and instructional leader, with that a deep understanding of both the joys and challenges of education. My passion is about helping teachers grow in their craft, supporting students as whole individuals, and fostering a positive school culture that encourages collaboration, respect, and curiosity.
I love to see students discover their strengths and gain confidence in who they are. Every child deserves a place where they feel they belong—and I work alongside staff and families to make that a reality each day.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and love finding new ways to stay connected to the community I serve. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a school that inspires both academic success and personal growth.
